Professionally

I am a storyteller, copywriter, and public relations professional with nearly 15 years of experience creating engaging content in higher education, quick service restaurants, and journalism. My career has included media relations, crisis communications, content marketing, email marketing, internal communications, digital content management, social media content and management, newscast producing, and promotional spot creation and scheduling. I’ve also led teams of editorial, communications, and multimedia professionals, helping them to develop their own skills while also fostering a strong culture.

I received my master’s in Journalism: Integrated Media Communications, in addition to a graduate certificate in Advertising and Social Media, from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL). I also hold a a graduate certificate in Organizational Leadership from Creighton University and an undergraduate degree in Broadcasting: Broadcast News with an English minor from the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO).

Personally

Born and raised on a farm in rural Nebraska, I live in Omaha with my wife, Brandy, and my dog, Scrappy. When I’m not typing away on a laptop, I enjoy running, kayaking, walking the dog, trying out local breweries and tasting new beers with friends, playing video games (particularly the Legend of Zelda series), and cheering on the Chicago Cubs.
